It is deeply restorative for the connective tissues and nerves, and personally I love the way it smells. It sounds like you are familiar with the wonderfulness of this plant already!
Have fun making Mullein root tincture!
-AnandaAnandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12082303853835512978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2308375110862977162.post-23273663598938738282011-08-20T00:35:25.668-07:002011-08-20T00:35:25.668-07:00This is a very important post - so many people hav...This is a very important post - so many people have sciatica and could benefit from everything you mentioned (including myself!). I am glad you mentioned mullein root, I need to tincture some for myself. And I loved the idea of gotu kola in an oil, makes so much sense! Thanks for the inspiration, even though I am sorry you were (I am hoping you are better now) in so much pain.celiahttp://dandelionrevolution.com/blognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2308375110862977162.post-73382183955437571532011-07-29T15:39:00.280-07:002011-07-29T15:39:00.280-07:00AarTiana ~

There is a paragraph above that notes nutritional importance, but I thought it would be quite long-winded to include all of that as well. Ironically, I've eaten the best of my whole life in the last six months, so in my case I think it was old injuries triggered by driving and some emotional fatigue. In general I agree with you that it can arise from deficiency which can send the muscles into spasm and inflammation.

-AnandaThe Plant Whispererhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11268162452475654188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2308375110862977162.post-81019810402974268502011-07-29T12:09:46.548-07:002011-07-29T12:09:46.548-07:00Hi Ananda! I used to have this ALL the time throughout most of my 20's and 30's, starting with pregnancy and getting worse due to financial stuff and the stress of trying to keep that altogether as a single mother for many years. What I didn't know until I got herbalist training is that there is also a nutritional component. Since I tend toward deficiency, I cannot speak highly enough about these three herbs in particular toward this issue: Burdock Root, Nettle, and Comfrey Leaf. While I didn't notice these on your list, perhaps it is due to my having a more chronic expression (that would certainly get acute if I drove across country!). I must confess I love your choices in this post for pain! My herbal school told me that pain was a sign the body needs nutrition, and that taking Comfrey until the pain goes away can work well for many. I know this can't work for everyone, but for deficient types like me, it is worthy of a look! Consider this post shared! :-)Lisa Allen MHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14433162249501914396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2308375110862977162.post-13749285800664129442011-07-28T05:16:53.297-07:002011-07-28T05:16:53.297-07:00Thanks Ladies!
